Owning a pool can be a love-hate relationship - love the pool, but hate the maintenance. It’s easy to get caught in a costly trap of never-ending pool chemicals, deteriorating pool equipment and less-than-good results.
This is because older and impurer pool water creates a diminishing return.
It is more difficult to keep this water in balance and requires excess chemicals. These chemicals have byproducts that can build up over time and damage pool equipment, stain plaster, and cause calcium build-up.
Reverse Osmosis makes pool maintenance cheaper and easier by bringing your water back to square one, therefore saving you time and money.
Our reverse osmosis (RO) pool water purification system purifies micro contaminants from the water to the extent that it actually becomes purer and softer than tap water! This creates a low-maintenance pool by creating an environment in the water in which the pool chemicals have less "work" to do, therefore requiring less quantity.
- Reducing Calcium levels in particular is critical in preserving the life of salt cells as long as possible and helps prevent calcium depositing on pool and equipment surfaces.
- Reducing Cyanuric Acid levels to 30-50ppm gives the chlorine the UV protection it needs while still allowing it to act fast enough to kill unwanted pathogens and algae blooms.
- Reducing Phosphate levels to under 125ppb can prevent algae from growing and greatly reduce the amount of Free Chlorine needed in the water.
The reduction of these three key parameters joined with a proper pool care regimen can revolutionize your swim!
Why Pools Become High-Maintence
Pool water gets more concentrated with micro contaminants as time goes on.
Think of it as a miniature Dead Sea. The water is constantly evaporating, but the pool chemicals and contaminants that enter the pool through fill water, swimmers (sunscreen, shampoo residue, urine, etc.) and through the environment (leaves, sprinkler runoff, dead bugs, etc.) are left behind. This creates a chemically inefficient pool.
To balance the pool chemicals, prevent algae, prevent scale, and sanitize the water, more chemicals must be added.
The problem with this is that the more micro contaminants in the water, the less effective new chemicals become.
You or your service pro will have to add higher and higher volumes of chemicals as the water gets more impure. Even with all these extra chemicals and hard work, the pool water won’t get to a good baseline. The chemistry and water cleanliness will still be poor and only get worse as time goes by.
At this point, homeowners get frustrated because a wide variety of pool problems arise, making the pool maintenance costly, repetitive and difficult.
The most apparent manifestation of oversaturated water stems from the over concentration of Calcium hardness. Think of water molecules as lazy. They will carry excess elements for a bit, but then they will get tired out and drop the ones that are too heavy for them.
These extra calcium molecules are now no longer dissolved in the water, but attach themselves to:
- Pool tiles
- Grout
- Pool plaster
- Railings
- Light rims
- Pool equipment
Common examples of what this looks like include:
- Rough sand paper like surfaces.
- White or colored build-ups and scales, especially on horizontal surfaces of spas
- Pool equipment scaling, especially in heater cores

Another common problem is algae growth because high cyanuric acid (CYA) levels and high phosphate levels breed algae.
In situations like these, the pool needs a fresh start with pure water, otherwise the homeowner and the pool pro will continue to waste time and money.
How Reverse Osmosis Fixes Pool Problems & Creates Low–Maintenance Pools
The common way to reset the pool is to drain it and re-fill it with new tap water. However, this is costly and wasteful because the homeowner has to pay for tens of thousands of gallons of water. It is also only somewhat effective because tap water still has some impurities.
Most importantly, draining your pool can cause surface cracking, debonding (large chips), and in rare cases dislocation of the whole pool itself.
Our reverse osmosis pool water purification technology cleans the existing pool water to be purer than tap, bringing your pool back to a perfect baseline.
Reverse osmosis works by stripping the water molecules of all the extra elements they are carrying. The water is pushed through a series of microscopic filters (RO membranes) that remove micro contaminants down to drinking quality water. These membranes can filter down to 0.0001 micron and remove the microscopic things that are too small for regular pool filters to catch.

This process has three main benefits for pool maintenance:
1 - Halts & Prevents Most Pool Chemistry Problems
With no excess elements in the water, there is nothing to deposit on the pool plaster, tiles, etc. The root causes of scales, build-ups, and stains are gone!
This saves you thousands of dollars by preventing costly issues.
2 - Removes Scales, Build-ups and Stains
Not only does reverse osmosis pool water purification prevent pool problems from getting worse or occurring in the first place, it can remove the stains and scales that occurred prior to the reverse osmosis treatment.
We balance the water after reverse osmosis to be in an “absorptive state” to re-absorb the elements that were previously deposited on pool surfaces. This means that the water will slowly remove the plaster stains, calcium scales and build-ups by re-absorbing the elements that caused them. This has to be done over time under specific water parameters. We offer education and a written plan to help achieve these goals.
3 - Incredibly Cheap and Easy to Balance Pool Chemicals
Less is always more when it comes to pool chemicals. The purer the water, the less chemicals are needed to balance it and the less effort it requires to stay looking great.

Pools that get a fresh start from reverse osmosis are very low-maintenance moving forward because homeowners are no longer fighting the water chemistry. Instead, they’re using the water chemistry to their advantage.
This prevents and fixes most stubborn pool problems and additionally creates an environment that needs few chemicals and little attention to thrive.
Think this might be just what your pool needs?
